Honda Civic Type R Mugen 2.2: A Tribute to the Retired K20.
The Mugen-tuned UK-edition Honda Civic Type R concept was revealed in 2010 to near-universal acclaim, prompting a 20-strong limited edition production run of the hand-built, motorsport-derived machines for UK enthusiasts.

Now technicians at Northampton-based Mugen Euro have worked their magic again, producing the 2011 Honda Civic Type R Mugen 2.2—a unique version with even more power. The cylinder bore and stroke have been increased to create an overall capacity of 2,156cc, denoting the Mugen 2.2 designation. The increased engine capacity brings power up from 240 to 260PS, and peak torque is now 240Nm at 6,000rpm.

The Mugen 2.2 represents the ultimate expression of the Honda Civic Type R philosophy and its creation is a fitting tribute to the highly successful Honda K20 2.0-litre engine, which has ceased production in Japan.

Take a Ride in the World’s Only 650hp Turbo Ariel Atom.

Built by Real Street Performance of Orlando, this wild Atom’s Honda K20 runs a stock block and cams, but was enhanced with Carillo rods and JE pistons lowering compression to 9.7:1. The setup is force-fed by a Precision turbo tuned for 20 psi on 93 octane and is driven through the stock 6-speed box. All this is good for 650 horsepower in a 1375lb package. Fun. As. Hell.

Unfortunately the owner is a bit of an asshat for driving it on the street like this. I would love to see this Atom on a real track instead of bombing through a property investment gone belly up.
