New Mustang Customizer Improves on Perfection.
NYC-based digital shop, Firstborn celebrates Mustang lovers by re-launching their Mustang Customizer for 2012. The completely redesigned flash-based tool lets you build and customize your very own 2012 Mustang. Whether you’re into the V6 rental sweetheart, Shelby GT500, the track-ready BOSS 302, or any model in-between, there’s something for every gearhead to tweak and massage.
Build one to your unique specifications, then challenge a friend via Facebook to claim bragging rights to the ultimate 2012 Mustang.

I built the nice 5.0-based street fighter below:

This environment is the A&W Drive-In in Clawson, MI off of 14 Mile Rd and Main St. Right near my house before moving to NYC.

Think you can do better? Customize your own 2012 Mustang, then post it up in the comments below.

    Collaboration = Awe + Comrades + Flirting

I really couldn’t agree more. I’ve worked with many teams during my last job at GM Design where we just could NOT get along. Too many egos involved without enough playful respect. The 3 things listed below are fundamental to a close, intense working environment. I think you’ll agree.

    katykelley:

Great post from PKM about what makes successful collaborative work teams.  I couldn’t agree more.

    patriciakm:

Here’s what I think makes our most successful internal collaborative teams work:

    1. Awe.

Awe is respect elevated to a level where you admit you could never go there. Smart people all secretly think they could do exactly what their smart, respected colleagues do. Awe is when even the smarty-pants admit they are working with someone who rocks something they couldn’t. Awe is true respect in a room full of talent.

    2. Comraderie.

If I can’t enjoy grabbing a beer with you at the airport I can’t truly enjoy working with you on a project that involves intense collaboration. You can’t force it - people who really don’t like each other won’t work well together. At the end of the day comraderie = I got your back. You’re my comrade if you’re loyal to me beyond what our department, title, or tenure would dictate - you get my back because you give a shit about me.

    3. Flirtation.

I think flirtation is seriously underrated (probably because I’m a shameless flirt). To me flirtation equals playfulness, a healthy lack of respect for political correctness, and a willingness to alternately jab and flatter each other’s egos. In an agency environment full of classic headcases we all need a lot of both, plus 10-hour days warrant a bit of time off for self-indulgently clever jabs, no?

    Do you need all 3?

I think it’s an and/or situation. If a few people have all 3 they’re probably gonna start an agency (or commune) of their own at some point… a good or bad thing depending on where you’re sitting ; )

I just think in general everyone in a team needs 1 or more type of connection with every other team member. If that happens, I’m pretty confident the team will rock.

    First day at Firstborn.
Today just so happens to be my first day of work at Firstborn Multimedia signaled to me by waking up to the trumpeting sound of the Twentieth Century Fox orchestral intro playing in my head, which might explain why I’m currently experiencing this splitting headache on the left side of my temporal lobe. Ignoring the pain, I’m thinking about what’s strange to me and that’s because if this were any previous year I’d currently be squeezing my way into NAIAS at Cobo in Detroit. Oh, but not this morning. This morning, I’m subway riding up to Times Square. Walking to 9th Street then heading up to Suite 910. My nerves are a bit active because it’s been over a year (gasp!) since I’ve worked in a true office setting, but I’m extremely excited to see how it goes.Wish me luck!
