It’s Official: 2012 Camaro ZL1 Gets 580 bhp & 556 lb-ft.
For those keeping track, that’s 30 bhp and 46 lb-ft more than Ford’s 2011 Shelby GT500. In addition, the ZL1 comes equipped with transmission, differential, and brake-cooling systems already in place; a beefed up Tremec TR6060 six-speed transmission to handle the extra power; and brand-new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Zero Pressure (ZP) tires developed specifically for the ZL1 and Corvette. Not bad, not bad at all.
